African Missions at Christ Church

Embodying the Gospel..."All the Way to Africa"

In February of 2007, Christ Church's senior pastor, Rev. Jan Brittain, and member Shirley Cromwell embarked on a fact-finding mission to Kenya and other areas of Africa. Their purpose was to find ways Christ Church could partner with the Methodist Church of Kenya to support their ministry efforts in helping the people of Africa. Since this time, Christ Church has supported the following projects in Africa through prayers and financial contributions.

Providing Scholarship Support to Students in Kenya, Africa in partnership with Kenya Partner Ministries.
The Africa Rural Institute is a boarding school operated by Rev. Misheck and Jennifer Kanake. The school has approximately 350 students of which over 250 board there during the school terms. In addition to the paying students, there are a number of students who come from extremely poor and dangerous family situations. Thus, the school is a ministry to these students. Christ Church has partnered with ARI to offer scholarship funds to students with expressed needs. Members of Christ Church have already commited to sponsor 10 students, but more sponsors are needed.  [Read more...]
