About Children of Eden
Children of Eden translates the first nine chapters of the book of Genesis into a joyous and enchanting family musical for the 21st century. Stephen Schwartz (composer of Godspell and Wicked) sets to music the stories of Adam and Eve as they face the delights and heartbreaks of parenthood, and then journeys with Noah as he valiantly sails his ark into the unknown. Although this show was never actually produced on Broadway, it has become well known and loved through community theater and church productions, and we are so excited to be able to bring this wonderful musical to life through the gifts and talents of Christ Church!

Ticket Information
Our production will run Thursday-Saturday, March 11-13, with 7:00pm performances each night in the Sanctuary. Tickets will go on sale beginning Wednesday, Feb. 17 and will be available on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings at the church, or you can order them with a special order form. Click here to download the order form. They will also be available at the door (if we don’t sell out in advance!). Ticket prices are $12 for adults, and $10 for students 18 and under, seniors and groups of 10 or more, so get your friends and neighbors together now for the group rate! Children under 6 are free and a nursery will be provided for very young children.
NOTE: Ticket prices are to cover the costs associated with the show – rental fees and royalties, orchestra, additional lighting and sound needs, etc. Our goal in presenting these musicals is only to break even – they are not “money-making events” but are meant to build community within the church and to bring outside people into the church to hear the stories of our faith in new ways.
Children of Eden Bible Study
More than just an evening’s entertainment, Children of Eden causes us to ask important questions about family, love and social responsibility, and challenges us as it reaffirms our beliefs. To help us prepare spiritually for this production, Pastor Jan will offer a two week study on the Biblical basis for the musical and explore how it might validate our own daily struggles, comfort us as we try to make sense of sadness, and sustain us as we seek the light that illuminates each of our lives. Part of our Bible365 offerings, the study will include two sessions, offered on Wednesdays, March 3rd and 10th, 6:15-7:15pm, and on Thursdays, March 4th and 10th, at 10am. Sign up for either study through the church reservation line (299-1571, ext. 333).
