Children's Worship at Christ Church

childrens worshipSummer Worship for Children - Children in Kindergarten and older are encouraged to attend worship services with their families during the summer. If they've been attending Children's Worship throughout the school year, they will be familiar with the structure of the service (music, prayers, offering, and sermon). The children in K - 4 may attend the "Extended Session" at 11:00am worship by following the acolytes out of the worship service after Sharing Faith with Children.

Children's Worship - To help in educating our younger children to the church service, we offer Children's Worship during the adult 11 o'clock service.  Children ages K through 3rd grade attend the beginning of the traditional service with their families and then  leave after the Sharing Faith With Children to follow the acolytes into our Chapel.  Adult leaders assist in many of the same parts of worship as "big church": a Call to Worship, a morning prayer followed by the Lord's Prayer, the offering followed by Doxology, the Affirmation of Faith.  An interactive lesson instead of a sermon is used each week.  Music is an integral part of each lesson, reinforcing the lesson point.  Sometimes, other activities are also used if time allows.

Children's Worship Bags - At all three services, Children's Worship Bags are available. These contain activities coordinated with the weekly worship theme. The following files contain some helpful hints for using the Children's Worship Bags: How to Use the Worship Bags and Children's Worship Handout
