Dominican Republic Mission Team

In August 2009, a team of sixteen were commissioned by Christ Church and, in turn, were received and blessed by the congregation of the Church of the Free Evangelical Methodists. This team began Christ Church's mission work in the Dominican Republic.
The team helped the DR workers dig a portion of the foundation holes, shoveled and removed the dirt displaced by the holes and formed and set the rebar. We purchased the cement and gravel that was to be mixed and poured after our team returned home. A Bible School curriculum was written and led by the Dominican Republic Team and served approximately 800 children over the course of the week. At the end of the week, the team was celebrated by the congregation with gifts and prayer before leaving the country.
The next trip to the DR will be July 24-31, 2010. The chairperson coordinating that trip is Scott Willetts.
