Handbells at Christ Church
Christ Church is blessed to have three standing adult handbellensembles: Campana Ringers, Carillon Ringers, and Celebration Ringers. In addition to regular weekly rehearsals throughout the fall and winterand frequent musical leadership in worship, all three groups join together to present a lavish annual Christmas Concert. Equipment used by the handbell and Hand Chime program include one five-octave set of handbells, a second set of 41/2 octaves, and a three-octave set of choir chimes.
For more information about participating in the handbell program, please contact our Coordinator of Instrumental Music, Andre Lash at 299-1571, ext. 308 or alash@christgreensboro.org.
Campana Ringers - Christ Church's first handbell choir plays frequently for worship services and functions outside of the church. This handbell choir is NOT meeting this Fall.
Carillon Ringers - An advanced bell choir that plays for worship services, bell choir festivals, and various local institutions.
Rehearsals--Monday 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Celebration Ringers - An intermediate bell choir which meets at a convenient early morning time. This ensemble also plays in Sunday worship services and for local community groups. Rehearsals --Tuesday 9:00-10:30 a.m.
Resonance Ringers - Besides these standing adult groups, a youth handbell ensemble, the Resonance Ringers, is created anew each year as a six-to-eight week component of our YMAC (Youth in Music and Arts at Church) program for 7th-12th graders; this rehearsal schedule culminates with Resonance Ringers providing leadership in Sunday morning worship. In addition to these opportunities and as an aid to our children's musical education, Hand Chimes are used from time to time as a regular part of the Children's Choir program.
