Spark for Kids

Spark Cares for Your Little Ones

Babies 0-24 months are welcome in our nursery, staffed by 3 experienced, background checked caregivers who LOVE babies. For safety, we have parents sign in and out, and have a numbered name tag for your child. We give parents a vibrating pager to take to worship with them in case they are needed. The nursery is available from the time you arrive through 12:45 pm.

Toddlers Ages 2-4 are welcome in our Extended Session Sunday School Classes.  They may attend Sunday School (9:50-10:50) and then stay on to continue playing with their friends, have more fun activities, and snack while parents worship. As with the nursery, we sign children in and out and have a numbered name tag for your child. They often go out to the playground in good weather, or combine with other classes if some children leave with their parents after one of the earlier services.  In the event that the class moves during their session, there will be a sign posted on the door giving the location of the class. Parent volunteers are on a rotating leadership schedule. Sign-out for the children runs for 15 minutes after SPARK concludes, so parents don't have to rush or worry that the care of their toddlers is ending even if SPARK runs over by a few minutes.

Children K-4th Grade: SPARK has joined forces with our concurrent 11:00 worship service to offer an awesome CHILDREN'S WORSHIP experience! Kids in Kindergarten through 4th grade are offered a fun and exciting time of worship designed just for kids each week while their parents worship at SPARK.  Children's Worship combines age-appropriate music, prayer, scripture and other worship elements with fun activities, games and play for fun and meaningful worship experience. It is currently designed as a two part program, the first half of which will be in the Chapel focusing on worship and learning.  During the second half of the program, leaders may bring kids to our gym or other spots around the church for activities or games.

We want to offer parents the opportunity to nurture their own spiritual growth, knowing that their children are being loved, enriched, and having a blast!  We want your children to fall in love with Jesus, and to add church to their list of places they beg you to go!

Parent may sign kids into the Chapel (located just past the main Sanctuary and receptionist desk) between 11:00 and 11:15am.  Sign out will last until about 12:30pm, or for 15 minutes after SPARK ends, so parents have plenty of time to collect their things and say hello to folks without worry, even if SPARK runs a few minutes long.

Children's Worship is led by parents and other volunteers from Christ Church.

**Parents are welcome to have their children attend Spark with them if the prefer, though SPARK is not a service geared specifically toward children. There is wonderful age appropriate activity for all children through 4th grade during SPARK, and two other very family friendly services that do offer a children's time within the service and worship bags to help keep children entertained.  We also offer the Discipleship Room as a Comfort Room across the hall from the Fellowship Center as room where parents of crying babies may take their children during SPARK and still hear the service without fear of disrupting the worship of those seated around them.  Worship Hosts are stationed in the Fellowship center and are available at all times to assist worshipers with any needs, and can direct parents to the Discipleship Room, Nursery or other options for children if they tire of their time with the adults in SPARK. We do ask that parents who choose to have their children with them in Spark will recognize the need for them to try another option if having your child with you becomes a disruption to those worshiping around you.  We aim to make every effort to nurture each member of your family, but please let a Worship Host know if there's a way in which we can better serve your family.
