Special Services

In addition to weekly services of worship, Christ Church offers several special opportunities throughout the year to give members and those in the community the chance to worship and celebrate seasonal and holy holidays. These include but are not limited to the following services:

Mardi Gras
Held the Wednesday before Ash Wednesday, this service focuses on our loving God who lavishes us with the gift of life.

Ash Wednesday
Held on the first day of the season of Lent, this service provides the opportunity to meditate and pray; includes the imposition of ashes.

Maundy Thursday
Held the Thursday before Easter Sunday, this services remembers to "last supper" Jesus shared with his friends.

Tenebrae Service
Held on Good Friday, this service of shadows focuses on the words of Jesus from the cross.

Youth Sunday Service
Held in May, this annual service is led by the youth of the church. 

Memorial Day Service
This service remembers those who have given their time, effort, energy, and sometimes their lives to serve God and country. During years when it is offered, this service is held the week prior to Memorial Day.

Blessing of Animals
This unique service is usually held in early October in the church's outdoor chapel.

Thanksgiving Service
Usually held the week prior to Thanksgiving, this service provides the chance to give thanks to God for the blessings of the year and ask for guidance as the new year begins.

Christmas Candlelight Service
Experience a lesson in carols with an abundance of music, both choral and instrumental.

Christmas Eve Services
Several services are offered in our Sanctuary on Christmas Eve each year and include a variety of styles for families of all ages. Choose the one that's best for you this year: Family Service (4:00 pm), Candlelighting and Communion Services (7:30 and 11:00 pm). This year, a time of Open Communion with Rev. Brittain will also be offered from 10am - Noon in the Sanctuary. Watch for more details.

Quarterly Healing Services
These services focus on total health, physical and spiritual, and everyone's need for healing.
