2017 Advent Workshop Craft Descriptions

Celebrate the Family
Mary, Joseph and the Holy Infant are the final elements of our 3 year hand puppet Nativity. Choose the pieces that are uniquely you to cut and glue. Add the Holy Family to your scene. Bring out the collection as you read and tell the stories of Christmas.

Draw the faces. Dress the Family.
Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus made with clay pots, wooden beads and a bit of burlap have a sweet personality. These adorable pieces can sit about your home for a holiday reminder of the first family of Christmas.

Glue the pieces. Hang an ornament.
Circle up with this small grapevine wreath ornament where Baby Jesus is swaddled at the bottom curve and a star takes over the arc above. Starry paper makes the night sky background.

Cook together. Eat together.
Expect a good measure of fun making homemade pancake mix. It is a family bake-along in a bag. Add Sprite for fizzy light batter. Heat up the griddle and get out the syrup.

Roll the Dough. Cut the Shape.
Makes scents with cinnamon dough cutouts, a delightfully messy and odoriferous craft. Once dry, add a hanger and deck those boughs.

Make a tree. Trim the tree.
Glue up wooden sticks and weave a colorful ribbon through. A star on top completes the craft. Use as an ornament or gift adornment.

Mark the Days. Make Family Time.
Loop the loops and make our perennial Advent Calendar paper chain. Tear into it daily for a fun activity suggestion or Bible verse.

Light the Candles. Make a tradition.
Use greenery and candles to assemble your family Advent wreath. Light a candle each Sunday in Advent. This is an adult activity. Reservation and extra cost is required.

Little hands create.
Find pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, beads, cereal, glue, and such at the preschool table. All suitable for the creative demands of wee hands.
