The CROP Walk fighting world hunger is coming up Sunday afternoon October 19 starting at New Bridge Bank Field and making a large loop through downtown. The Greensboro CROP Walk is the second largest in the nation, and Christ Church has a tradition of being among the leading participants.
We invite you to become a part of this Christ Church tradition by participating in this year’s walk, either as a walker or as a sponsor. Participating is simple. If you would like to walk or sponsor, just go to the table in the Gathering Space, and get an envelope, or make a pledge. Then start asking friends and neighbors to support your efforts. To make it even easier, there is an online fundraising option. We have a ChristUMC page set up already (http://hunger.cwsglobal.org/goto/ChristUMC-CROP). If you are a walker who wants to take advantage of this online opportunity, or if you are a sponsor having trouble with the link, contact Kathie Amato or Al Rives via email: email@example.com.
A simple way to measure the success of the CROP Walk is through the monetary support generated for the fight against world hunger. We’d like you to consider your participation from an additional point of view, however – as with any charity that supports people in need, the walk and the fundraising are a means for you to recognize and express your love for those in need. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity by either walking or sponsoring a walker in this year’s CROP Walk.
Our KIDS Group will participate in the CROP Walk during our Sunday School time, raising money and walking to help feed hungry people. Get your sponsor sheet in the Gathering Space!
Our K–6th Graders will have their own CROP Walk during the Sunday School time. Children are encouraged to bring some money to donate to help feed hungry people. Bring some allowance, or money you might make through doing extra chores. We all can make a difference!
