Go deeper in Bible Study during the holy season of Lent with a multigenerational study of the Gospel of Mark, which highlights many of Jesus' bold actions such as healing and other miracles, and tells the story of Jesus's final days and his resurrection. Dr. Mickey Efird, Professor Emeritus at Duke Divinity School, will lead the study with warmth, humor, and a wealth of scholarly knowledge.
The study, which began February 21, will continue this Wednesday, February 28, from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the Fellowship Center. Drop-ins are welcome, but each session builds on the previous session. Cost is $3 per drop-in session.
About Dr. Mickey Efird: Dr. James Michael Efird, more familiarly known as Mickey, has taught Greek and Biblical studies to generations of students. He is a popular teacher and scholar, retired from Duke Divinity School. He is an ordained Presbyterian (USA) minister. He is committed to making the Bible understandable and properly understood for pastors and laity alike, he has been extremely active in the Divinity School Lay Academy program and has taught in churches of many denominations throughout North Carolina and elsewhere. Dr. Efird has cheered on Duke's football, basketball, and other athletic teams for many years
