Toward the end of the first Christian century there seems to have been a unique community of Christian believers who interpreted Jesus and the community of faith a bit differently than was presented in the Synoptic Gospels (Mark, Matthew, and Luke) and some of the other NT books. There were reasons for this and we shall try to find why this story of Jesus and His followers was a bit unique. The figure of Jesus, especially in the Gospel, is a magnificent being, towering over His time and place in the historical process. One of the themes of the gospel is "come and see". So in that light, we shall try to unravel these mysteries.
