The Relevants Wind Quintet will perform Friday evening, January 17, at 7:30pm at St. Pius X on Elm Street as part of the Music for a Great Space Concert Series.

RELEVENTS WIND QUINTET is the Faculty Ensemble in Residence at High Point University. The Quintet was founded in 2008 by a group of musicians who were looking for the exceptional collaborative experience that only chamber music can provide. Relevents made their international debut on a tour of southern Germany in March 2009 and has since performed throughout Oklahoma, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Dedicated performers and teachers, the individual members are all on the faculty of High Point University, maintain active teaching appointments with other local universities, and keep extensive performance schedules with symphonies throughout North Carolina and the southeast.

Relevents is committed to removing the traditional boundaries that exist between the performer and the audience. By performing in both traditional and non-traditional venues, Relevents works to welcome new fans to the world of wind quintet repertoire.

"We strive to present exciting and diverse programs, performing standards as well as new works for the wind quintet developed through close collaboration with up and coming composers. We are committed to performing music that is relevant to each of us and to our time."
