Join us on Tuesday, February 18, for dinner at 5:30pm, followed by an interesting program. U.S. Coast Guard Captain (Ret.) Royce Garrett has agreed to speak at our February dinner. He will have slides of a trip taken to the Antarctic in 1980. His last ship, the Polar Icebreaker USCGC Northwind was used in Arctic and Antarctic to conduct research and open channels for ships to supply bases so they could remain open in the summer season. He has visited the Arctic and Antarctic aboard the Northwind and witnessed polar bears, walrus, penguins, albatross, seals of many types, and sea lions. Please make reservation by noon on February 17. Indicate if you live at WhiteStone or Friends Home (Guilford or West), and would like transportation on the Church Bus.
