A seminar for second through fifth graders and their parents on baptism and communion
For second through fifth Graders: 2:30pm–6pm in Fellowship Center
Children will learn through storytelling, learning centers, and creative activities.
Supper will mirror the atmosphere of the Last Supper.
For parents only (and other interested adults): 2:30pm–3:30pm in the Chapel
for “Baptism and Communion” led by Rev. Alice Kunka.
Communion for parents and children: 5:30pm–6pm in the Sanctuary
WHAT: Join us for a time together to enable better understanding of the sacraments as “very special times” in our lives. This seminar will provide an opportunity to view that through baptism, we discover how much God loves us, as well as a time to share the meanings of Holy Communion. Together, we will come to know that when we share in the Lord’s Supper, we are a family remembering together that God loves us.
This seminar is designed to facilitate understanding of the sacraments. Children who participated two years ago will benefit from repeating this experience.
WHO MAY ATTEND: All second through fifth graders, along with at least one parent each, are encouraged to attend. As church and home work together for the best Christian education, we ask for parent participation with the child. This seminar will be not be offered again until 2018. Friends, and their parents, are very welcome to register as well!
COST: $12 per child
The seminar is sponsored by the Children’s Council and coordinated by Cynthia Styers and Tara True.
QUESTIONS?: Contact the coordinators listed above, or call Anne Dooley in the Church Office.
