Inclement Weather Policy

Regardless of weather or power outages, we will always strive to have worship at 11am, but in all cases, please use your personal discretion to determine if it is safe for you to leave your home and travel to church.

In the event that severe weather, such as snow, occurs in Greensboro, Christ Church wants you to know what to expect regarding scheduled events and worship. Please note the following policies, but feel free to contact us if you have questions at (336) 299-1571.

  • Call our main number, (336) 299-1571, and press 6 for announcement regarding weather.
  • Visit our homepage, where we will post announcements whenever we are able.
  • Watch WFMY News 2 or Fox 8 channels for closing announcements.
  • If you attempt to call and receive a busy signal or get no answer, you may assume the phone lines are down and the church is without power, meaning our offices and buildings are closed.

Childhood Enrichment Center & Kids Ahead Policies

Regarding inclement weather, the Childhood Enrichment Center (weekday preschool) follows Guilford County Schools.

Our Kids Ahead after-school program's policies are as follows.

  • If phones do not work, it means there is no power and we will close.
  • If schools dismiss early, we pick up at Sternberger Elementary School at the early dismissal time.
  • If schools are closed, call (336) 299-5006 for a recorded message as to opening time and check TV stations for "Kids Ahead CUMC" for opening time.
