Does “financial peace” sound like an oxymoron to you? Financial concerns are among the top causes of marital stress and take a huge toll on the peace that God wants us to enjoy as his children. When we pause to remember that everything we’ve earned, achieved, and spent really belongs to God, we pause in gratitude and strive to be the best stewards of the blessings He has entrusted to us.
In 2012, Pamela and I took the Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace Uni- versity (FPU) course and it has changed our lives. The course forced us to confront and discuss deep-seated beliefs that influence our spending, saving, and giving habits. FPU teaches how to get out of debt, manage your money, save, and give wisely. This is not a boring economics course! You will laugh and cry at the stories told in the video and by your classmates.
Christ Church will again be offering the nine-week class beginning September 14 (through November 9) from 6pm until 8:30pm. Cost is $93 per couple, and childcare is available on request. If you or some- one you know could benefit from this class, two preview sessions will be offered on Sunday, August 24, at 12:15pm and September 7, at 6pm. Stop by for “fifteen minutes that could save you 15% or more...” (apologies to the gecko), or sign up and find more information online at christgreensboro.org/fpu.
