Sunday, January 19, is the second Sunday after the Epiphany. Its color is green. Rev. Michael F. Bailey continues the sermon series, Burn Out or Re-Fuel Your Soul based on Luke 4:16–21. Hope to see you this Sunday!
Our hymns and choral music for this Sunday call us specifically to the worship of God as a part of living a balanced life; in addition, we will recognize the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King to our society by the inclusion of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth” as part of the music in our traditional services.
The organ music at the 8:30am service will include settings of two multi-cultural songs: the African-American spiritual “Go, Tell It on the Mountain” and the African worship song “We Are Marching in the Light of God”. At 11am, the organ voluntaries are from the French composers Louis Vierne and Marcel Dupré.
