Sunday, January 26, is the third Sunday after the Epiphany. Rev. Michael F. Bailey finishes up the sermon series, Burn Out or Refuel with the sermon, "Burn Out or Take Your Foot Off the Accelerator” based on Matthew 14:18–23. Our newest Stephen Minister will be commissioned at New Horizon.
At our traditional services we will sing hymns reminding us of God's overarching grace and control and for the need to rest in God: Praise to the Lord the Almighty, Give to the Winds Thy Fears, and a hymn setting of Psalm 23.
Choral music will include modern settings of "How can I Keep from Singing" at 8:30 and "Somebody's Callin' My Name" at our 11am service. Instrumental music at our 8:30am service will include a piano setting of "Morning Has Broken" and a setting by J.S. Bach of "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty". At 11am, the opening voluntary will be a setting of "Praise to the Lord" by Sigfrid Karg-Elert; the closing voluntary will be Fugue in B Major by Marcel Dupre.
