Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher

Maybe love songs are slipping!  I’ve heard beautiful ones in movies set in WW2, such as, “I’ll Be Seeing You in All the Old Familiar Places.” Then, some powerful songs like “Unchained Melody”, “My Girl”, “Michelle” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. But I think my era brought it down multiple notches with many of the Bread-type songs like, “Baby I’m A Want You, Baby I’m A Need You” years. But, in 1967, Jackie Wilson, came out with “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher”. For relationships with people it probably was an over the top love song, but it describes well what God’s love for us does for us – and through us to others!
