This is designed to enable 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys and girls and their parents to explore, from a Christian perspective, the nature and function of sexuality which affirms our creation as male or female, and that God has said: “It is good”. We hope to open further channels of communication as well as recognize, accept and affirm their own self worth.

In 2016 "The Commission on a Way Forward" was proposed by the Council of Bishops of the United Methodist Church to do a complete examination and possible revision of every paragraph of the Book of Discipline concerning human sexuality, and to explore options that help to strength and maintain the unity of the church. A Special Session of the General Conference of the United Methodist Church will be held Feb 23-26, 2019, in St. Louis, MO, to receive and act upon a report from the Commission on a Way Forward based upon recommendations of the Council of the Bishops.
In an effort to familiarize ourselves with the work of the Commission on a Way Forward and the recommendations of our bishops, we are offering three sessions in which we hope to have "healthy conversations" around this important topic. Each session will present the same material and will be led by Morris Brown and Cindy Thompson.
