For many years, CUMC has maintained a covenant relationship with missionaries. These covenant relationships help to provide financial, emotional, and spiritual support for these missionaries.
Chris & Dora Barbee currently teach English in several villages in Roi Et, a province of Thailand. They also plan and teach worship services for youth every Sunday and disciple a small group of new believers in their home each week, as well as assist with camps in Bangkok for 7th-12th grade students. Their home and van were destroyed in a recent tornado. The home is owned by the school, therefore it will be replaced by the school. Unfortunately, the van they will have to replace themselves. This van is used to transport the children they teach and mission to. Without this van, it halts their ministry, mission and discipleship.
Gordon and Ardell Graner are missionaries serving with the Iglesia Evangelica Dominicana (Evangelical Church in the Dominican Republic) since 2003. In addition, the Graners are beginning work on women’s projects, Christian education for children, and teaching sustainable cooking practices with solar ovens that are donated and installed by work teams.
