Block Party at the Glenwood Campus

And it is hot, hot, hot!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to welcome the cooler weather of fall and am so glad that it is just around the corner. I’m also excited because we are celebrating the end of summer with a Block Party at the Glenwood Campus!

You might be thinking: “Block Party, didn’t we just do that?” Yep, we did, but that was last August. We had hot dogs and popsicles and popcorn to go around. Kids ran from the sprinkler area through the corn hole games and inflatables and back again. We handed out water bottles and t-shirts. And Pastor Morris got dunked in the dunk tank many more times that Pastor Louis and Pastor Carter. It was an incredible day of meeting 500 of our new neighbors in Glenwood and it was an incredible start to our ministry in the Glenwood neighborhood. Time flies when you are having fun!

This year, it’s Block Party 2.0 which means even bigger and better. Thanks to many of you, we’ve developed deep relationships with members of the community as well as with many community partners. And, we expect many of our new friends to bring their friends and to help us spread the word about life on the Glenwood Campus and in the Glenwood neighborhood. Don’t worry, we’ll still have games, inflatables, hot dogs, and popsicles. And, you can still dunk Pastor Morris in the dunk tank. We’ll also have a band playing music, free produce give-a-way, and other new activities. Most of all, we’ll have a fun-filled opportunity to build deeper and new relationships with the Glenwood community.

We hope that you will join us on August 17th and invite your friends and families and neighbors. We also need volunteers to help make this wonderful event happen. You can sign up to set up, welcome our neighbors, assist with games, cook hot dogs, serve food, drive the bus, clean up and more here:
