Morris is responsible for the overall spiritual leadership of Christ Church. His responsibilities include vision casting, strategic planning, leadership of staff, worship design, preaching, and working with the people of Christ Church as we seek to love, grow, and serve. Morris is married to Pam, who teaches blind and visually-impaired students for Guilford County schools. The Browns have two sons (Zach and Caleb), two wonderful daughters-in-law (Ellen and Kelsey), and a beautiful granddaughter, Addison Marie! Morris is passionate about helping people discover the relevance of the Christian faith for postmodern life. He is also passionate about golf and the music of “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen!

Louis is responsible for the operations of Christ Church and working with the relevant lay and staff leaders. He is also active in worship and preaching, in addition to overseeing our ministry to young adults. Louis has served in churches in North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. He is married to Kate, an MD student at Wake Forest, and they have one son, Felder, and a dog, Hobbs. When he's not working or chasing Felder, he enjoys backpacking, fly-fishing, being active, and watching sports (specifically the Georgia Bulldogs, the Davidson Wildcats, the Atlanta Falcons, and Duke).

Virginia serves as Associate Pastor at Christ Church,working in the areas of Congregational Care, Missional Engagement and Connections Ministries. In Congregational Care, Virginia works with Stephen Ministers, and applicable church staff to offer educational and supportive resources to all those in need of care at Christ Church. A passion for Virginia is missions outreach where the body of Christ impacts our community with a message of God’s hope and love. Virginia also works closely with the Connectional Ministries team to help people connect their gifts and graces with the missions and ministry opportunities of Christ Church.
A child of missionaries, Virginia grew up in Brazil and Rutherford County, NC before going to Mercer University. During her 25 years in ministry, she has served congregations in the areas of Spiritual Formation, Family Ministry, Pastoral Care, and Mission Outreach. Virginia furthered her education at Campbell Divinity, ACPE Chaplaincy training, and most recently at Duke Divinity School. Virginia and her husband, Lollis, have two sons, Joshua and Joel.
+ Lead Pastor, Glenwood
Carter is the primary pastor for our Glenwood Campus. She leads worship there most Sunday mornings and Monday evenings at the Table and lives in the Glenwood neighborhood. She also serves as the Lead Pastor at St. Timothy's UMC, our sister congregation. This is Carter's third appointment in North Carolina, and before moving back home to NC, she served churches in Tennessee and Colorado. When not at church, she loves walking her dog Ollie, cooking, reading, exploring the mountains of NC and VA, and playing with her two nieces.

Cathy, who has been at Christ Church since 1993, is responsible for leading our Worship and Arts ministries for all ages. She collaborates with the other Worship and Arts staff and clergy in the planning and leadership of our traditional worship services and is responsible for the coordination and planning of special worship services and concerts throughout the year. She especially enjoys bringing people of all ages together through our church-wide productions such as Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde and past productions of Fiddler on the Roof and The Sound of Music, and she truly believes that there is a place for everyone in Worship and Arts at Christ Church.

Matt is responsible for leading music for our contemporary worship services. He collaborates with the clergy in the planning and leadership of the services, coordinates musicians, and oversees the usage of worship technology in those services.

Jared coordinates all handbell activities at Christ Church. He directs the Chimers, Campana, and Carillon choirs, and works closely with Cathy West and Chris Dederer. In addition to his ministry at Christ Church, he is the music teacher at a charter school in Summerfield, NC. Jared is a passionate musician with a servant's heart, and he draws his strength from John 13:15 "I have set you an example so that you do as I have done for you." When he's not teaching or directing music, Jared enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Annie and toddler son John, and an occasional round of golf.

Anne is responsible for providing oversight to Discipleship Ministries. Specifically, she is in ministry with Welcome Wednesday, intergenerational events, senior adults, Baby Boomers, adult Sunday school, and small groups. Anne works with the Directors and Boards of CEC and Kids Ahead. She has a heart for developing volunteer servants, helping people explore their spiritual gifts and passions, living into their calling as disciples.
She is a graduate of Greensboro College, with degrees in Religion & Philosophy and Sociology. She completed Certification Studies in Christian Education at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and has been working full-time in Christian Education since 1978, joining the team at Christ Church in 1981. She enjoys working with a wide variety of people in our many facets of Discipleship ministry. Her hobbies include going to Raleigh to see her young adult children, and playing a little tennis. Christ Church is her home, and she is honored to be part of this church family, along with her husband, Barry.

Katey is responsible for overseeing the youth ministry (grades six through twelve) and coordinating the teams of volunteers that it takes to run this ministry. She grew up in the Greensboro/Jamestown area, mostly in the halls of Christ Church. She loved growing up with the Children's and Youth programs at CUMC and credits their guidance to her faith in God's grace and her heart for missions. She has a degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and a Masters in Christian Practice from Duke Divinity.

Kara joined the staff in November 2017 and is responsible for overseeing the ministry for children at Christ Church. Kara grew up in Advance, NC, and attended Wake Forest University for her undergraduate studies. At Wake Forest, Kara was a double major in Religion and Elementary Education and earned a North Carolina teaching license for grades K-6. Kara is currently in the Master of Practical Theology program at Pfeiffer University. She is a certified candidate for ordination as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church. Kara loves working with kids, helping people find their passion for serving others, and spending time with her family and friends, her dog, and a good book. You'll probably never see Kara without a cup of coffee in her hands.

Kathy has been the Director of the Kids Ahead after school program since its inception in July 1994, and is honored that her church home has supported this vital ministry for 25 years.
She is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Elementary Education and multiple graduate courses in education. She taught in Pittsburgh, PA, and the Greensboro City Schools before coming to Kids Ahead. Her family consists of her husband Terry, three adult children, and four grandchildren.

Sallie Bett is the director of our weekday preschool, Childhood Enrichment Center. She oversees the CEC staff and works with the CEC Board of Directors to run this ministry.

Courtney is responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy that helps people in the congregation and the community connect with the ministries of Christ Church. She also oversees the technology of Christ Church in support of its ministries. A North Carolina native, Courtney received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and English at UNC-Chapel Hill and her M.A. in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Before coming to Christ Church, she worked as a digital editor in the content marketing industry. She lives in Greensboro with her husband, Tim; their son, Rhett; and their dog, Gatsby.

Samantha manages the finances of Christ Church, working closely with the Finance Committee to cultivate good stewardship of our financial resources. She ensures that all contributions to the ministries of Christ Church are used to further the work of those ministries, enabling us to honor our commitment to be a community where the good news of Jesus Christ is encountered, embraced, and embodied.

Susan provides support to the clergy of Christ Church and is a wonderful link between our pastors and the congregation. She coordinates schedules, helps manage pastoral care needs, and generally stays two steps ahead of our pastoral staff.

Sarah serves as the receptionist in the office area, attending to the various needs within the Church Office and providing support to our Worship and Arts and Education and Formation staff. Sarah moved to Greensboro to attend UNCG in 2000, and obtained her B.A. in English with a minor in History. Sarah has an M.F.A. in English and Creative Writing with a concentration in Fiction. In her spare time, she loves to read, write, and watch movies of every genre. She is also a music lover and a big kid at heart.

Robyn, working part time at Christ Church, works with Samantha in stewardship of the finances of Christ Church, ensuring that our resources are managed with accuracy and integrity. She grew up in Florida and moved to Greensboro to attend UNCG. After many years working in sales and management positions she eventually ended up at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro where her mom was a patient. Robyn has been a Volunteer Coordinator at hospice for the past 13 years. In her leisure time Robyn enjoys gardening, volunteering and spending time with friends.

Mark is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Administration and a major in Hospitality Management. He has been on staff at Christ Church since 1997 and worked in the food service and hospitality industry for 22 years. Here at Christ Church, he manages our facilities and food services.
