Choir Chimes are are musical instruments played similarly to handbells, but they are much more durable and great for all ages (you don't have to wear gloves or worry about scratches). This is a great opportunity for older children to have hands-on experience with an instrument and allows them to develop their music literacy skills, which have been proven to help stimulate the learning process for children in all areas, not just music! Directed by Jared Gordon, Director of Handbell Ministries.

Christ Church has a strong history of drama, including Broadway musicals (Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Sound of Music), extended religious works (Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde and Gian Carlo Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors) and dramatic presentations in worship. Opportunities exist for children, youth and adults to be involved in creating, directing and performing in these dramatic experiences. The education department also includes a strong drama component as part of its Vacation Bible School experience. We see the use of drama in our worship services as a way to further "tell the story" in a creative way.
Our Drama Ministry small group creates, rehearses, and performs short dramas to support worship and special events at Christ Church. Also includes puppet ministry, designing and producing videos, and performing readers’ theater. For more information, contact Jim Gibson (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Psalm 150 says, "Praise God with tambourine and dance." We have a youth liturgical dance troupe that practices and performs as part of the YMAC program (The Good News Dancers), and we have had special dance presentations for all ages in worship services outside of this program. Many of our dramatic presentations have included dance, as well as our church's Vacation Bible School program.
+ VISUAL ARTS
We view the visual arts as a means to enhance both our worship experiences and our physical surroundings. Individuals in the church have created several arrangements through the year for our Sanctuary, Fellowship Center and Gathering Space to coincide with our worship themes, and we welcome anyone with ideas for these arrangements. Members have also created paintings and banners for the church, and in 1999, we exhibited the "Life of Christ" painting series, created by Wendy Wallace, which is currently on tour in the U.S. If you would like to be involved with the Visual Arts Ministry at Christ Church, please contact Virginia Reynolds (email@example.com).
+ Music for a Great Space
The Music for a Great Space series originated as an organ series to feature the Fisk Op. 82 organ which resides at Christ United Methodist Church. Charles Fisk spoke to the congregation at CUMC after the installation of the organ saying that it should be shared with the community because of the special qualities of the instrument and the acoustic in which it is housed. MGS founders Henry & Lucy Ingram decided to begin the series and sought advice from Joseph and Dorothy Kitchen (parents of famed Borromeo First Violinist Nicholas Kitchen). 1992 was the inaugural season of MGS. After a few years of successful concerts, Henry and Lucy decided to branch out and invite other genres of artists and ensembles to perform on the series as well, but have kept two of the concerts as organ concerts remaining true to the history of the series.
+ OUTSIDE EVENTS
The excellent acoustical qualities of our sanctuary, coupled with the exceptional C.B. Fisk pipe organ, make our church a frequent performance venue for community events such as Music for a Great Space, Bel Canto Company, Opus Concert Series and various college performances.
