OUR UWF CIRCLES

Lydia Circle Lydia Circle meets on the 3rd Mondays of every month at 7pm for an empowering gathering tailored for women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. Our circle, established in the fall of 2023, is open to all women, regardless of church membership. At our meetings, expect engaging discussions led by wonderful and relevant speakers, covering topics close to our hearts and minds. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment where women can share their experiences, wisdom, and insights. Lydia is also dedicated to making a difference in our community & world through various service projects and annual pledges. From volunteering to organizing events, there are plenty of leadership opportunities for those who wish to take an active role, and an opportunity to pledge annually to support the causes of United Women of Faith Worldwide! Of course, it's not all serious business. We also know how to have fun! Our monthly icebreakers and regular socials are a great chance to connect with fellow members in a relaxed setting. And let's not forget about the snacks! Our monthly meetings feature delicious treats to enjoy while we bond and discuss.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming overnight retreat on May 17-18. It's an event not to be missed, so be sure to register here early to secure your spot.

Joanna Circle
Joanna Circle, God is gracious. Joanna was a woman who was healed by Jesus and became a devoted supporter of his mission. (Luke 8:3) Our Circle is a group of women who strive to live like Joanna in our faith by following Jesus. We are a strong group of women of many ages and stages of life. We learn about a wide variety of topics at our monthly meetings covering spiritual and personal growth and missions that support women, youth, and children. Our Circle members bring a wealth of knowledge leading our book studies and invite speakers to further our understanding of our community. Fifteen to twenty women meet September through May in the Disciple Room and on Zoom, as needed. During the summer we meet for dinner or fellowship to keep in touch with each other. Joanna Circle is a loving, supportive, praying group of women. Visitors are always welcome - we invite you to join us.

  • Meetings: Second Tuesday of each month (September-May) 7 - 8:30 PM in the Disciple Room and on Zoom.

Deborah Circle
The Deborah circle is a group of women who are active in a variety of church activities and enjoy meeting each month on the third Tuesday at 7:00 at the church or by Zoom if needed. We are mostly in our 60’s, but we welcome all ages. We invite speakers to most of our meetings and have a wide variety of presentations that inform us about missions (local to international) and interesting community organizations. Recent speakers have been from Out of the Garden, A Simple Gesture, Family Services of the Piedmont, and She Rocks!, a nonprofit raising awareness about ovarian cancer that included Dr. Kathleen Tucker from the Wesley Long Cancer Center. We love field trips, and have visited the Interactive Resource Center several times and recently toured the Healing Gardens at the Wesley Long Cancer Center. We collect supplies for the Interactive Resource Center, serve dinner at Greensboro Urban Ministry, and have created UMCOR Mission Kits. We usually meet for dinner in the summer months and celebrate Christmas by gathering together for a covered-dish dinner. Visitors are always welcome! We encourage you to come and meet with us to find new ways to connect and serve.

  • Meetings: Third Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the Parlor.

  • Contact: Jean Carter, Interim Chair

Abigail Circle
Abigail Circle has about twenty members of various ages, but all are eligible for senior discounts! We are generous with our time and resources, and our chosen local mission is preparing and serving a meal on every fifth Tuesday at Higher Ground, a day center for people and their family members who are HIV-positive or have AIDS. Circle Programs may involve outside speakers who come to inform us about various health issues, local outreach projects, seasonal church topics, etc., and we also welcome Church clergy and staff to help us to get to know them better. During the summer months and for Christmas, we meet for lunch at various Greensboro restaurants. Come join us!
