MISSIONS AND OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES
PECK ELEMENTARY
There are 4 months left of school and though the Peck students are in a new fabulous building, they still have a need for supplies. This is where Christ Church comes in! Social Worker, Shenika Bush, has asked for the following items specifically for the rest of the year – Washcloths and Dove Sensitive Soap, Laundry detergent, and toys and snacks for attendance rewards. The school can always use headphones, Apple charging cords, Clorox Wipes, Lysol Wipes, baby Wipes, Kleenex, Ziploc bags of any size and children's pants (boys any sizes, 5/6 up to 16/18 in girls). We have an Amazon Wishlist and a Walmart registry full of things that have been requested. You can shop through one of our lists and have your donations sent directly to the church or shop at your favorite store and drop off your donations at the Mission Cafe. Many thanks for your donations!
UNCG FOOD PANTRY | MARTHA’S TABLE AT UNCG | AGGIE FOOD SOURCE AT NC A&T
The need for food for seniors and college students is not what we hear about in the news, but the need is just as great. Along with the United Women of Faith MELT is sponsoring a food/hygiene drive for Spartan Open Pantry & Martha's Table at UNCG and the Aggie Food Source at NCA&T. Find the list of needed pantry items at the Mission Cafe and here: SOP/SRG Food List. Donations can be dropped off at the Mission Cafe and in the drop off bin outside near the door that leads to the Fellowship Center.

MEALS ON WHEELS
About 40 CUMC members currently volunteer with the Meals on Wheels (MoW) program run by Senior Resources of Guilford County, and we would love to have even more. We gather one day each month (the 4th Tuesday) to deliver about 300 meals to homebound seniors. You can choose to deliver as part of a pair or alone. Deliveries begin around 9AM and last about 2 hours. To volunteer, you will need to apply then go through a short training session at Senior Resources. You can begin the process online - https://www.senior-resources-guilford.org, or contact Al Rives (rivesab@wfu.edu) with questions or for assistance in applying. Another way to help is by donating to the Senior Resources Food Drive. This list can be found here. Donations can be dropped off at the Mission Cafe and in the drop off bin outside near the door that leads to the Fellowship Center.

FIND YOUR PLACE
Finding your place in ministry at Christ United Methodist Church
At Christ Church, we believe that all of us share a calling to follow Jesus, be his disciples, and join him in his ongoing work of ministry in the world. We call this our “Equipping Ministry.”
“Equipping the Saints for Ministry” is a New Testament concept from the writings of Paul. Equipping ministry is all about engaging and involving servants in Ministry. At Christ Church, we strive to have a strong Servant Culture, doing God’s work in this church, the community, and the world. Our Church is a training ground for the Great Commission (Go and make disciples). We want to Connect people to meaning beyond themselves.
Spiritual Gifts Assessment: Christ Church believes that each person is called and gifted to be in ministry. Our spiritual gifts assessment will help you discover your gifts and then, if you so choose, a Ministry Mentor can assist in exploring the different ways you can use them. You can click the Spiritual Gifts Assessment button below. The spiritual gifts assessment takes about 20 minutes and there are 64 questions. You can score the assessment yourself or meet with a Ministry Mentor to find out how you can use your gifts at Christ Church.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ…From him the whole body…builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:11-13
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4 - 5
Ministry Mentor Description
Ministry Mentors walk alongside our members and friends, as Resource People and Connectors, to answer questions or connect you to people who can. They can help you “pull it all together” --- looking at Heart (Passions), Abilities, Personality, Experiences, and Spiritual Gifts (for those who choose to take the inventory). This is for both new and long time members. Contact Katey Galyon or Debbie Hayes with any questions. kgalyon@christgreensboro.org, dhayes@triad.rr.com
