Healthy Conversations: A Way Forward

In 2016 "The Commission on a Way Forward" was proposed by the Council of Bishops of the United Methodist Church to do a complete examination and possible revision of every paragraph of the Book of Discipline concerning human sexuality, and to explore options that help to strength and maintain the unity of the church. A Special Session of the General Conference of the United Methodist Church will be held Feb 23-26, 2019, in St. Louis, MO, to receive and act upon a report from the Commission on a Way Forward based upon recommendations of the Council of the Bishops.

In an effort to familiarize ourselves with the work of the Commission on a Way Forward and the recommendations of our bishops, we are offering three sessions in which we hope to have "healthy conversations" around this important topic. Each session will present the same material and will be led by Morris Brown and Cindy Thompson.

Fall Food Drive for Greensboro Urban Ministry

We're hoping to collect nearly 5,000 pounds of food for Greensboro Urban Ministry during our Fall Food Drive: Volunteers are needed to stand by the doors at Harris Teeter at Friendly Center, handing out flyers to customers entering the store and collected groceries as they exit.
