Amberly Johnston, Director of Worship and Arts, holds degrees from Ithaca College (BM) and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (MM). A lifelong Methodist, Amberly sang her first solo at age 5 during a dedication service for the ‘new’ United Methodist hymnals and has loved the music of the church ever since. She aims to guide and encourage everyone to lift their voices in song and engage in the creative arts as a means of expressing God’s divine narrative and to bring us closer together as a community of faith.
Amberly has served on the Visioning Team and as Events Coordinator for the national Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts as well as serving as President of the Western NC Fellowship Chapter. Amberly resides in Greensboro with her husband and daughter. She loves coffee, the color purple, and her favorite holiday is Groundhog Day.
