Lenten Offering

This year, our Lenten Offering will support Recovery Café Greensboro.

There is not a specific project attached to this gift — rather, our offering will support their mission as a whole: creating a healing, inclusive community for individuals in recovery. As they often say, “We are all recovering from something.”

Recovery Café Greensboro provides:

  • Twice-weekly free meals

  • Continuing education classes

  • Recovery Circles for those in recovery — regardless of what they are recovering from

  • Recovery Circles are small, loving support groups of 6–10 people who meet weekly to share the highs and lows of their journeys, offer encouragement, and build meaningful connections. A critical part of their mission is creating a space where members are deeply known and loved.

  • Their School for Recovery offers classes that strengthen communication skills, encourage self-care, build self-awareness, and create healthy recreational outlets such as yoga, art, and music. They also host celebrations and social events that foster belonging and healing community.

  • Recovery Café Greensboro is an inclusive environment that welcomes people regardless of age, ability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, indigenous heritage, gender identity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or life experience. They are founded on the belief that every human being is worthy and lovable — regardless of past trauma, mental and emotional anguish, substance use disorder, or human mistakes.

They serve as a bridge alongside traditional treatment programs and self-help groups, helping members establish recovery, maintain stability, reduce relapse, and fulfill their human potential.
